Reasons to choose an Apple Mac over a Windows PC

Apple Mac over a Windows PC

Most laptops are either running Apple’s MACOS or Microsoft’s Windows. These are only some options available – you have Google Chrome OS and Linux for those who love to hack, but they’re the most popular. Which one is best for you?

First and foremost, MACOS can only be installed on Apple computers. MACOS considered as best laptop for bloggers than Windows laptops. Microsoft produces its laptops using the superior Surface range. However, many companies make Windows PCs in every shape and size.

This greatly impacts the number of choices available and how much you can spend.

Windows vs. MACOS: Hardware

MACOS is also considered the best laptop for Windows laptops. MACOS is only available for Apple computers. It’s meant to only run on Apple computers, such as the MacBook and iMac. Windows, on the other hand, runs on all devices. These include powerful workstations and a small Raspberry Pi. It will likely run Windows if it can compute.

According to Stat Counter, 74% of all computers in the world run Windows as of April 2022 (opens a new tab). This is more than MACOS’ 15% share, with Linux, Chrome OS, and “unknown” accounting for the remaining 10%. This makes Windows the most widely used operating system on the planet.

Windows computers also offer more customization options than Apple’s. It’s much easier to modify a Windows PC’s processor, GPU, memory, and storage than an Apple device. You can customize the Apple product if you have any customization rights.

Repairing Mac computers is easier

There are many places where you can bring your Windows PC for repairs. However, you will need to do some research. Different prices apply to different places, so you need to ensure you find one with a good reputation.

There are many options, including taking your computer to an Apple Store where the “Genius Bar” will take care of. My personal experience is that I have had to bring both my Macs and Windows PCs to be repaired. It’s been much easier for me to repair my Macs.

The Operating System: MACOS or Windows

Unix is the foundation of MACOS. Because Unix is the basis of most web and database servers, Mac computers are easy to use. You can have a similar experience on Windows with PowerShell, but it won’t feel the same.

Security is another benefit of MACOS. Unix is stable, flexible, and secure. Therefore, MACOS can be said to be safe against viruses and malware by default. To ensure your Windows laptop is safe, you must install an antivirus program and run regular scans.

Additional benefit: MACOS comes with excellent software that you can use even if you aren’t coding. Windows offers more software than MACOS. However, these come with something other than Windows’ factory installation. You will need to purchase them.

The Apple ecosystem

It’s hard to beat the Apple ecosystem. Devices like the iPhone, Air Pods, iPad, Apple TV, and Home Pods provide a seamless integration that makes certain tasks easy. No other company or ecosystem has achieved such seamless integration between Apple’s home-built products.

Windows vs. MACOS: Safety/security

Windows’ openness has led to many computer systems being infected with malware, spyware, ransomware, and other malicious software. It’s not surprising that Windows has to deal with so much malware because it is widespread. Microsoft has done a great job in recent years, releasing security updates. The sheer volume of Windows users will mean that the operating system will likely be more vulnerable than Windows.

However, MACOS is safer than Windows due to the company’s policies and the smaller number of computers running Apple’s operating systems. There are fewer malware creators for MACOS because there are fewer computers. However, this doesn’t mean that MACOS is immune to malware. It’s still a good idea to have antivirus software installed on Macs.

Windows vs. MACOS Gaming

This section is not a contest. There are better choices than Macs if you want to play serious games on your computer. The Apple Arcade on MACOS and its Steam store version are both great, but they pale compared to what’s available for Windows platforms. When you consider hardware customization, which allows users to upgrade components such as graphics cards and CPUs, it’s clear that PC gaming is superior.

The Xbox app is available for Windows. It allows you to play games bought from Microsoft and Xbox stores. Xbox Game Pass is Microsoft’s gaming subscription that offers hundreds of streaming and downloadable games from both Microsoft’s first-party studios and third-party publishers. GOG and Steam both have extensive libraries for PC gamers. There is also a healthy emulation scene on PC.

MACOS is always updated and free of charge

Apple releases new versions of its operating systems every day. They are freely available for download on all Macs that support them.

Windows 10 also receives free updates on a two-year basis.

To get Windows 10 up-to-date, however, you will need to pay $120 if you are using Windows 7 or Windows 8.

Microsoft offered the upgrade free of charge for the first year after Windows 10 was released, but that is now long gone.
